It all began in 1978 when brothers Eugene and John Jetts opened a small pizzeria on the east side of Detroit, Michigan. Armed with a family recipe for square, deep-dish pizza and an unshakeable belief that great pizza could transform a neighborhood, they built something extraordinary from scratch.

The Jetts brothers pioneered the iconic Detroit-style pizza — a thick, airy crust baked in well-oiled rectangular steel pans, topped edge-to-edge with Wisconsin brick cheese, finished with rich tomato sauce ladled on top. This "inside-out" style became their signature, and word spread fast.

Today, Jet's Pizza operates across the United States, yet our commitment to quality ingredients, handcrafted dough, and the same family recipes has never wavered. Every pizza we make carries the spirit of those early Detroit days.

1978

The First Slice

Brothers Eugene and John Jetts open the first Jet's Pizza on Sterling Heights' 15 Mile Road. Their secret? Hand-pressed dough, Wisconsin brick cheese, and a rectangular steel-pan bake that creates a perfectly crispy, buttery crust unlike anything Detroit had tasted.

1985

Expanding the Family

After years of overwhelming local demand, Jet's opens five additional locations across metro Detroit. The iconic "8-corner pizza" — a cut that gives every slice two corners — becomes the standard, and fans can't get enough.

1997

Going Franchise

Jet's Pizza launches its franchise program, bringing the authentic Detroit-style experience to passionate entrepreneurs across the Midwest. Strict quality standards ensure every franchise location feels as authentic as the original.

2008

Online Ordering Pioneers
